FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013

 

Correios Brazil issued a block of stamps commemorating FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013. The block with two stamps displays the Official Emblem of the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013 and the Official Trophy of the tournament.

The Official Emblem brings the bird – symbol of Brazil, the Rufous-bellied Thrush painted with colors inspired by the national flag, which simultaneously alludes to the colorful fauna of the country. The flight of the bird symbolizes the hospitality and welcoming spirit of the Brazilian people. The Official Trophy is made of gold plated bronze.

The Trophy represents two bands involving the base and climbing up to the globe – such construction features the theme of the tournament “Festival of Champions”.
